Roridula gorgonias is a shrubby protocarnivorous plant native to South Africa. It produces elongated leaves covered in sticky glands that catch insects. Unlike other carnivorous plants, it does not digest its prey directly: it lives in symbiosis with specific insects that feed on the catch and provide the plant with nutrients. It is a fascinating but somewhat delicate species, suitable for those who already have some experience.

Characteristics
Roridula gorgonias catches insects with very sticky hairs that glue them in place and cause them to die.
The plant, however, does not digest them: a symbiotic bug (Pameridea) eats the trapped prey and defecates on the plant, which then absorbs the nutrients from the feces.

Roridula gorgonias
Very bright light; it also tolerates full sun exposure. In indoor environments, strong artificial lighting is necessary.
Like all carnivorous plants, it requires water low in salts (rainwater, demineralized, or osmotic). The substrate must remain slightly moist, never completely dry, but without prolonged waterlogging. Do not use the standing water tray method.
It prefers mild to warm temperatures: ideally between 15 and 30 °C. It tolerates slight drops in winter, but is sensitive to frost. In winter, it is helpful to maintain a slight dormancy with cooler temperatures.
It does not require frequent pruning. It is sufficient to remove dry or damaged leaves with clean scissors.
