Roridula are shrubby protocarnivorous plants native to South Africa. There are two species, Roridula gorgonias and Roridula dentata.
Both produce elongated leaves covered in sticky glands capable of catching insects. Unlike other carnivorous plants, they do not digest their prey directly: they live in symbiosis with specific insects that feed on the catches and provide the plant with nutrients. It is a very fascinating genus, but both species are slightly delicate and suitable for those who already have some experience.
