Characteristics

Light, not too intense, is also suitable for poorly lit environments, but good exposure encourages the red coloring of the leaves. It is a perennial tropical plant that does not require a winter or summer dormant period. It is a hybrid and does not have a specific geographical location, although the plants from which it derives are native to Australia, specifically Queensland.

Capture technique

Drosera captures its prey using leaves covered in sticky glands (trichomes). Insects, attracted by the glistening, dew-like droplets, become trapped. The plant slowly rolls up its leaves to digest the prey and extract nutrients.

Watering

Only distilled, rainwater, or demineralized water.
