• Trap characteristics: Green traps and white leaf
• Plant size: Medium/Small
• Rarity: Extremely Rare
A selection made by Caput Mundi Labs, this Dionaea Muscipula was selected for its unique coloration, a perfect balance between the white leaf and the light green traps, exactly the opposite coloration of the famous Dionaea m. "Ghost". A phenotype more unique than rare that makes these plants truly spectacular, but also extremely difficult to acclimatize, making it a decidedly rare plant, a true jewel for any collection!
Dionaea muscipula are sold in 6.5 cm diameter pots
Characteristics
The perfect trap:
Imagine two modified leaves, joined along a central rib, that open like the pages of a book. Inside these "pages" are very sensitive hairs called trichomes. These hairs act as sensors and, when touched by an insect, trigger a mechanism that causes the trap to close.
How it works:
Attraction: The Dionaea attracts insects thanks to nectar glands that produce a sugary liquid. This nectar has an irresistible scent to insects, which are thus drawn toward the trap.
Contact: Once it lands on the leaf, the insect inevitably touches one or more trichomes. This first contact is not enough to trigger the trap.
Closing: For the trap to close, the insect must touch multiple trichomes or the same trichome multiple times within a short period of time. This mechanism serves to prevent the plant from wasting energy by closing the trap for false alarms, such as a raindrop.
Imprisonment: When the trap closes, the edges of the leaves come together perfectly, forming a sort of cage. The teeth present on the margins of the leaves interlock, preventing the insect from escaping.
Digestion: Inside the trap, the plant secretes digestive enzymes that break down the soft parts of the insect, absorbing its nutrients. This process can last several days.
Reopening: Once digestion is complete, the trap will reopen, ready to capture new prey.

Dionaea Muscipula "Reverse Ghost" (Caput Mundi Labs)
This plant requires a very bright environment all year round, seeking shade during the hottest hours of the summer months.
Keep 2/3 cm of water in the saucer at all times; it is IMPORTANT to always use distilled water.
The Dionaea Muscipula (Venus Flytrap) comes from bogs located in North America, so it lives in a temperate climate with hot summers and cold winters. This plant is accustomed to living exclusively outdoors from spring onwards until October; the Dionaea M. will have strong growth before slowing down in winter, but don’t worry, this is normal!!!
Gently remove any dead leaves or remnants of digested prey to prevent mold and keep the plant healthy.
