Drosera graomogolensis is a carnivorous plant belonging to the Drosera genus, native to the mountainous regions of Brazil, specifically in the areas of Minas Gerais. This plant is endemic and grows in specific habitats such as sandy soils or rocky areas rich in moisture and sunlight, typical of high-altitude regions.
Main characteristics:
- Leaves: It features long, thin leaves covered in sticky glands (tentacles) that release a viscous liquid to trap insects. The leaves curl delicately around the prey to facilitate digestion.
- Color: The leaves range in color from light green to red, depending on light intensity.
- Flowers: It produces small, delicate flowers, often pink or white, which develop on a thin stalk above the foliage.
- Habitat: It is adapted to high light conditions, constant humidity, and nutrient-poor soils. Like all carnivorous plants, it obtains nutrients primarily from its prey.
Fun facts:
- The name "graomogolensis" derives from the Grão Mogol region in Minas Gerais, where the plant was first identified.
- It is a species particularly loved by carnivorous plant enthusiasts for its exotic appearance and relative ease of cultivation compared to other Drosera species.

Characteristics
The Drosera captures its prey using leaves covered in sticky glands (trichomes). Insects, attracted by the shimmering, dew-like droplets, become trapped. The plant slowly rolls up its leaves to digest the prey and extract its nutrients.

It requires bright but indirect light, such as filtered light. It can tolerate a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning or late afternoon, avoiding the hottest parts of the day.
It prefers a consistently moist substrate. Use only distilled, demineralized, or rainwater, avoiding prolonged stagnation and hard water.
It grows well at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C. It is important to protect it from frost, maintaining a warm and humid environment during cold periods.
Gently remove any dry leaves or digested prey remains to prevent mold and keep the plant healthy. Do not use chemicals.
