The Begonia rex is an ornamental indoor plant famous for its large, decorative leaves, characterized by spectacular shades of green, silver, red, and purple. Native to the tropical regions of Asia, it prefers bright environments without direct sunlight, mild temperatures, and constant humidity. Elegant and striking, it is ideal for adding a touch of color and originality to domestic spaces.

Characteristics

The Begonia rex prefers bright but diffused light, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight which could damage its delicate leaves. It is best placed in bright environments filtered by light curtains. It is an evergreen decorative plant that maintains its charm throughout the year. However, its period of maximum growth is concentrated in spring and summer, when it develops new, vibrant, and colorful leaves. Native to the tropical regions of India and Southeast Asia, the Rex begonia loves warm and humid conditions, reminiscent of its natural habitat.

Exposure

It should be placed in bright, warm environments protected from drafts. It does not tolerate direct sunlight and prefers well-ventilated areas that are not windy.

Watering
